I've been sharing with you by time spent in Las Vegas attending The Gathering which is, quite literally a gathering of radio programmers, DJs, music journalists, record labels, and, of course, up-and-coming musicians meeting to discuss the future of the industry. We learned a lot about how to make our station the best it can be and saw a ton of awesome performances from musicians we can’t wait to play for you!

Night 2 was such an amazing show, but for today’s blog, I’ll be focusing on the opener.  The crowd was getting amped at Backstage Bar & Billiards in Downtown Las Vegas. Blue lights filled the whole room, and we awaited the arrival of King Falcon. We had been hanging with the members of the band, Michael, James, and Tom, in the days leading up, so I was extra excited to see their performance. Especially considering they drove nearly 40 hours from New York, with their car breaking down in Colorado, just to put this show on for us.

King Falcon took the stage with so much energy. Their lead singer Michael had a powerful voice with great control. Tom’s drumming made me want to get up there and hit some drums myself.  And James was bouncing around, putting his leg up on the drums, and just getting the crowd going. They all really knew how to work their instruments and the audience, which checks out, seeing as they’re all teachers at The School of Rock in NY.

I got a chance to chat with them the following morning. We sat on the floor of their hotel lobby and talked about their journey to The Gathering, how teaching informs their music, and some more about who they are as a band. Listen below, and also check out their single I can’t get enough of, “Shake, Shake”

We'd love to hear your feedback, so let us know if you wanna hear more of this band on 107.3! Either email us (This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.) or text our Forest City Shuffleboard text line 216-578-1073 !

Gathering 2023: DAY 2 (Part 1)

Written by

As I mentioned on Monday, I was out last week in Las Vegas attending The Gathering which is, quite literally a gathering of radio programmers, DJs, music journalists, record labels, and, of course, up and coming musicians meeting to discuss the future of the industry. We learned a lot about how to make our station the best it can be and saw a ton of awesome performances from musicians we can’t wait to play for you!

Day 2 of The Gathering did not disappoint! It was a full day of music, so I’ll touch on the first half of the day here and keep the blogs coming in the following days with more details on the all the performances we saw! But for the start of Day 2, we ventured to Atomic Liquors in downtown Las Vegas, which you may known from it’s feature in movies like The Hangover and Casino, to see a few acoustic sets from some up and coming artists.

To kick things off, Blurry took the floor. The 25-year old Texas native was ready to impress. Though the set was acoustic, the power of her voice felt like it could fill a stadium. Her sound is heavenly, and she had amazing control of her voice. Check out one of her live-non acoustic performances here.

Following up Blurry was another Texas female rocker with a lovely sound, 19-year old Remy Reilly. I found out later that she had actually been writing music since she was 5 years old, which make sense, cause her lyrics were so meaninful and inspiring. You could tell shes been fine tuning her sound for a while. I recommend watching her live performance of her latest EP title track “Avalanche”.

Then we moved on to Cleveland’s very own, JACK HARRIS. I am partial because I believe Cleveland has the best music, but despite my bias, he performed a great acoustic set in preparation for the next day where he’d be opening for K.Flay. We’ve had Jack in the 107.3 studio before and have played him on Live and Local (Sunday nights at 9 with Aaron Lux), but boy has this kid elevated his sound. He performed at The Gathering when it was in Cleveland last year, and I really didn’t think he could get any better. Though this year round, his voice was stronger, his new songs were elevated and catchy, and he still gave off that boy next door persona the fans love so much! I can’t wait to write more about his non-acoustic performance he did the following day… so keep an eye out for the next blog. But in the meantime, please check out the song that was stuck in my head the whole plane ride home, “Spider”.

We want to know what you think of these artists so we can better curate your perfect playlist here at 107.3 ! If you can, send us some feedback to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.

National Paranormal Day w/ Carrie Danger

Written by

We are just about halfway to Halloween and today is National Paranormal Day!

*cue thunder and lightning striking*

For all my ghost chasing friends out there, everyday is a paranormal day.

Paranormal: not scientifically explainable or supernatural.

What is really happening in the Bermuda Triangle? Did you really hear a baby crying from your attic or are you just spooked from the scary movie you just watched?

Maybe you’ve witnessed a UFO and you just KNOW it was a real UFO and not a plane.

Personally, I have experienced some creepy, unexplainable instances in my life. From shadow people that followed me to 4 different homes to feeling that dark presence when I turn out the light to go to bed… which inevitably I turn the lights right back on and go to sleep.

The experiences aren’t all bad, I have had many visits from my mom in the form of smells.
In fact just the other day I was doing my cinnamon abundance ritual (try it, it really works) and as I was just about to blow the cinnamon into my home I got a big whiff of the laundry detergent she used. Wild and incredible, thanks momma!

I think it’s fun to explore the unknown and connect with the other side.

So grab your friends and make sure you sage your Ouija board before diving into a conversation with another worldly being and always say goodbye.

Is the truth out there? There is only one way to find out…

As always, take care of yourself and don’t let the ghouls and goblins get you!
Love, Carrie Danger

Walnut Wednesday Returns... In The Rain

Written by

Each Wednesday during the summer, food trucks line up in Perk Plaza to provide Clevelanders with some fun, new, and local lunch options! The Downtown Cleveland Alliance hosts it every year and today is the day it finally returns! Musicians typically line the plaza, but we might have to wait for next week when the weather is a little drier. Either way, my tummy’s already growling. Check out today’s lineup.

Check Your Pie Chart w/ Carrie Danger

Written by

May is Mental Health Awareness Month and as a lot of you know I am big on mental health.

I have been asked many times what I’m talking about when I say “check your pie chart” so I thought I would do my best to explain it here. It’s easier to explain verbally but maybe I’m over complicating it.

Checking your mental pie chart… So one day in therapy I was going on about something that was taking up a lot of my mental space.

My amazing therapist says something along the lines of … “You’re using up a lot of your mental pie chart for this thing. You should be using that space on you and your desires” Thank you Kara!

So we drew out a pie chart and that big space that was consuming me turned into the “me” chunk. Are you following? Yes? Okay, good.

Just like that, she gave me a tool that I can use when I am overthinking about something or someone. When I find my mind wandering on something that I can’t control, I remind myself “check your pie chart”.

Is it something you can solve? Is it someone you can get through to? Are you able to write it down on a to do list and come back to it when you have the time and emotional bandwidth?

Obviously, I understand that we all have so many heavy things that happen to us and of course our minds will focus on whatever it is. However, in my situation I was hung up on something that was not good for me and it really took a lot of my mental capacity and happiness away from me. No more. I set my mind and heart free in January and the growth and healing from just this simple phrase has had the most positive impact on my life.

So please take note when you’re overthinking and feel that weight on your shoulders, remind yourself you’re human and it’s okay but don’t lose yourself to your thoughts.

You are valid, you are worthy, you are enough!

Check your pie chart, take care of yourself.
Love always, Carrie Danger

DON'T BLINK... And miss Blink-182

Written by

Don’t BLINK, you might miss their new music or a chance to win tickets…

Blink-182, the men, the myths, the legends. They finally reunited the original gang, and kicked off their first live performance at Coachella last week, not just headlining one weekend, but filling in last minute for Frank Ocean and saving the festival.

Ss we look forward to some new music from them…just a few days ago their drummer, Travis Barker, tweeted, “Album will be finished before we leave on tour”. Seeing that their tour starts this Thursday, I am waiting NOT so patiently. We love them for their nostalgic songs anyway, so vintage Blink will have to do in the meantime!

And if you wanna win tickets to see them when they come to Rocket Mortgage Fieldhouse May 16th, I’m your girl all week long! Just tune in around 11:30AM the rest of the week for your shot at a pair to the show!!

Weathers Show w/ Carrie Danger

Written by

Hello all, I hope you had a great weekend!

Over the weekend I was able to attend the Weathers show at Mahall’s and let me say… these guys can work a stage. It was great to see them LIVE and how they interact with the crowd and each other was refreshing.

Wx and CD

For instance, at one point Cameron Boyer was handed a fan’s phone and took a video of himself on stage singing and made sure to get the other members in the shot!

The venue was packed, everyone had great energy as the band played and kept feeding the crowd song after song while the whole room seemed to know every lyric to every song. After their set, they broke down their gear and made their way right to the merch table to meet with the fans that patiently waited in line.

It was so beautiful to see their faces light up when they finally got to the table to meet the guys! Needless to say, the band was humble and very sweet, giving each person their own special interaction, taking pictures, signing merch and just being really great.

Bonus: I got to meet two awesome women who just so happen to listen to the station, Brittany and Sabrina!

CD and B and S

The show start to finish, 11/10. I highly recommend you go see this band next time their in town and don’t worry I’ll be sure to let you know!

As always, take care of yourself.
Love, Carrie Danger

The Gathering 2023: DAY ONE

Written by

I was out for a couple of days last week because I was attending The Gathering 2023 in Las Vegas! It’s quite literally a gathering of radio programmers, DJs, music journalists, record labels, and, of course, up and coming musicians meeting to discuss the future of the industry. We learned a lot about how to make our station the best it can be and saw a ton of awesome performances from musicians we can’t wait to play for you! I’ll be showcasing the musicians we saw all this week. But for today’s blog, let me tell you about the first night.

On day one, we showed up, a little jet lagged and delirious but all in all so excited to see some great shows. That night we went to The Sand Dollar in downtown Las Vegas where we got to see Killer Kennedy, Letdown, and Giovannie & The Hired Guns.

Killer Kennedy, an artist out of LA with a sound reminsicent of early 2000s took the stage first. She describes herself as a “Bad Bitch, Sad Bitch” but NOT a “Disney Bitch” and probably had the best style of anyone in the room. It was a chill start to the night as people were still arriving at the venue, but she managed to put on a solid set and get people out of their seats. She performed her latest release Drugs on My Mind which you can check out for yourself here.

Letdown took the stage next and was anything BUT a letdown. He was engaging with the audience members who were getting just as hyped as he was. He got the other jet-lagged people out of their seats and bumping to the music. I can’t tell which is more beautiful… his long luscious locks or his angelic voice but either way, his song Crying in the Shower was stuck in my head for the rest of the trip. It’s catchy, vulnerable, relatable, and just a great track. You might have heard it when Carrie played it during the Danger Zone, but you can also check it out here.

Next was Giovannie & The Hired Guns! They were brought on stage by a fellow Chicano DJ who mentioned the importance of showcasing their music on her station. It added another layer to an already special performance. You’ve most definitely heard their song Ramon Ayala on our station, but I highly recommend checking out their live performance of the song below because seeing them on stage is a totally different experience. The band consists of Giovannie and 4 others (The Hired Guns). All of them brought their own unique dance moves, personality, and energy, even one guy playing the tuba with his bass still strapped to him. You could tell how into the performance they were and it made everyone want to get on the stage with them. Killer band, killer performance.

We want to know what you think of these artists so we can better curate your perfect playlist here at 107.3 ! If you can, send us some feedback to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.

Happy Friday Everyone!

As usual, I was driving quite a bit today before work and the rain really set the tone for the music.

It was a very chill vibe as I ran tedious errands with the occasional hype song thrown in there.

What are some songs or an album that makes you feel just right on a gloomy day?

I’ll plug in some of the highlights from my day that I think you might like as well.

Highly recommended: All of them of course but really listen to the lyrics of 'Mucho' by Dopapod

Have a fantastic weekend ahead and if you’re going to Weathers at Mahall’s I’ll see you there!

Take care of yourself. Love, Carrie Danger

Self Care Poem by Carrie Danger

Written by

Today I did a lot of driving before coming into work and with driving comes thinking. For better or worse, long drives can encourage us to just think. Like I said… for better or worse! IYKYK.

Anyway, many things went through my mind regarding a long list of topics. To pick just ONE, I decided to simply share a poem about self love and self care.

This poem was actually inspired by a listener (Thanks Lisa!) who mentioned they enjoy that I talk about mental health on air.

It’s clear I am a very positive and optimistic person but we are all only human and dark days come and go. So I like to use this platform to remind everyone that it’s okay to have a hard day, just make sure you do something to take care of yourself so you don’t spiral.

Check your pie chart, take care of yourself. Love, Carrie Danger

You’re Doing Great, Rest Your Head

Rest your head
Close your eyes
It’s time for bed
Your thoughts are a cycle
They tend to race
Just try to remember
To keep a steady pace
You’ve worked so hard
You’ve done so much
Now it’s time
To get in touch
Sit back and relax
Listen to your favorite song
Because precious sleep, my dear
Will be here before long
Try to breathe
Take a big, deep breath
You’ve done enough for the day
Now it’s time for rest
Whatever is on your mind
Can be solved in due time
Close your eyes, my little one
I know your plate seems full
Reach out to those that care for you
It’s OK to pull back the wool
Whatever it is
Wherever you’re going
You’re doing great
Take comfort in knowing
You are so loved
You’re not alone
Take care of yourself
This world is your throne

Disclaimer: this poem was written in the early morning hours on my drive home from work, so be kind.
