I can get over missing Blink-182 perform at Coachella once, but I am supremely jealous I wasn’t in the crowd for their two stellar performances, since they replaced Frank Ocean for the second weekend. And since I couldn’t make it to the show, you just know I watched that live stream! 

Week 1 of the festival marked the band’s first performance since reuniting with Tom Delonge (Can you believe it’s almost been 10 years since he took a step back???). The setlists on Week 1 and Week 2 were about the same, but on Week 2 they showed up ready to impress by amping up their video production, pyrotechnics, and visuals. Seeing they had little time to prepare, as Week 2 was a last-minute addition to their schedule, they still did what Blink-182 does best, put on a nostalgia-filled, energetic, and engaging punk rock show. 

Last night, Mark Hoppus used his humor to engage with festival goers, asking how many of them had done illegal drugs that weekend and also making a “deeznuts” joke. It was only two years prior that he found out he had cancer. Taking that into consideration, along with Tom Delonge’s multiple hiatuses from the band over the last couple of decades, it’s really a miracle they performed as the original Blink-182. They’ve saved my soul with their music, and this year, they saved Coachella. 

Now I am more PUMPED than ever to see them on May 16th at Rocket Mortgage Fieldhouse.
