Dirty Heads w/ Carrie Danger

Hey folks!

As you know the Dirty Heads played at Jacobs Pavilion on Monday night and it was a great show!

We started the day with the exclusive sound check experience where we actually got to go up and get a photo with the Dirty Heads, super nice dudes!

Alyssa and I had fun meeting everyone who stopped over to our booth to play a little plinko to win some merch. All the tie dye was incredible AND seeing all the 107.3 tie dye shirts really brought huge smiles to our faces!

Starting things off was Ohio band Tropidelic, this marks my first time seeing these guys and they did not disappoint!

G. Love and Special Sauce took the stage second and once again, what a great experience to see them rock the stage. Great energy all around!

Lupe Fiasco went on next, WOW it was just Lupe and his DJ but for just two dudes on stage they really worked the crowd in such a great way! I don’t think I have gotten to experience such a presence from one artist on his own. It was a trip down memory lane when he played his 2007 hit ‘Superstar’!

Headliners for their Island Glow Tour… Dirty Heads! The crowd went wild and these guys rocked it! Let me just say, I love to people watch, specifically at concerts. You will see so many different styles all in one place to enjoy the same music together as one!

I hope you all enjoyed yourselves if you went!

As always, take care of yourself.
Love, Carrie Danger

P.S. I can still smell the aroma of …. Well you know ;)

Drone's Eye View: CLE Fireworks

I know, I know - no one wants to see my fireworks videos... Which is why I'm posting someone else's fireworks (thanks Cleveland.com). And it's from a drone camera, so it's even cooler!

Happy Fourth, everyone!

Hello there!

Today I was able to get lunch with my grandparents and let me tell you… again I am so lucky to have two sets of grandparents at the age of 34!

So my Grandpa Robert, Grandma Peggy Dawn and I stopped out to Sunrise Social in Green and as always it was delicious.

GPA R and PD Horizontal

I wanted to highlight this visit because 1. They live in Florida so our visits are rare and 2. I have learned so much from them over the years.

The biggest lesson I have learned is “Don’t Take It Personally”. It’s #2 of the Four Agreements.

I must have been about 13 yrs old when they said it to me and OF COURSE I took it personally. That’s the ego working. It took probably 12 more years for me to finally understand what they meant and what someone else says or does isn’t about you, even when it sure seems that way.

Before I close I should cover what The Four Agreements are.

  1. Be Impeccable With Your Word
  2. Don’t Take Anything Personally
  3. Don’t Make Assumptions
  4. Always Do Your Best

In the book The Four Agreements: A Practical Guide To Personal Freedom by Don Miguel Ruiz, you learn the ways to free yourself and live your life with peace of mind and personal integrity. I highly recommend giving this a read with a true open mind.

My grandparents are two of the most amazing, understanding and wise people I have ever met in my life and anyone would be lucky to meet them.

As always, take care of yourself!

WOW! What a Week!

The first week of "The Morning Hang w/ Ryan Lang" is in the books!

It all started even before my first official show with a great night out at Blossom. Brady Marks and I had the unbelievable opportunity to introduce Don Broco to the stage! The Brittish band, along with Girlfriends, opened up for Pierce the Veil and The Used Saturday night. The crowd was electric, the music was incredible, and the night was one I'll never forget.

Then, after a wonderful Father's Day bouncing around Cleveland with my wife and kids, it was time to start the show Monday morning. A few bumps in the road at first (sorry Tame Impala *cringe emoji*), but with the help of Jake and Brady Marks, it's been an incredible week.

Growing up listening to Cleveland radio legends, some of the best this business has to offer, I can honestly say this is a dream come true! Thank you for the chance to talk to you every morning. I'm beyond grateful!

Now, let's have a Lang Hang!

Hello there!

As many of you know, Queens of the Stone Age (QOTSA) dropped their latest 8th studio album “In Times New Roman…” on Friday June 16th. Now as a loyal fan, of course I listened 3 times over while performing various activities.

I dig it, all of it. From start to finish this album is 47 minutes 37 seconds and very in your face and VERY QOTSA. In an interview Josh Homme says he wanted this album to sound brutal. According to Josh, it’s all about risk.

The lead track is called “Obscenery” and it’s right to the point with lyrics like “voyeurism-jism”.

Now this is the first album since their 2017 ‘Villains’ album, which I listened to everyday for over a month. During the time since that release Homme endured some hard times. One… a global pandemic. Also, a nasty divorce and lengthy custody battle for his children AND a cancer diagnosis just last year. Josh said in an interview with Consequence “Some records are made ahead of their time and behind their time, and some are made of their time, and I don’t think you really get a choice on that… I think this record was made of its time”.

In an interview with NME ahead of the album's release, Homme spoke on how life events had an influence on the recording of In Times New Roman...:

"I think when you're dealing with the extreme ups and downs of life, you don't stop and go: 'I should really make a record.' Those things don't exist in that moment. If your roof is flooding, you don't say: 'We should make a record about this!' You have to stop yourself drowning in a flood. We recorded it probably two-and-a-half years ago, but it just sat there waiting to be finished. I didn't sing it until last November. I wasn't done living. Honestly, I was probably afraid. I wasn't ready. You need the flood to be over, and then you can decide whether you can accept the flood. I think with this being a record about acceptance, you need to actually get there yourself."

I personally enjoy the crunchy guitar and beautiful vocals of Josh Homme I have come to know and love over the years. To top it off I can relate in some way to each song I have ever heard by QOTSA.

To conclude, the last song is 9:01 and what a journey that is… the first listen I was shocked to see I was still on the same song. ‘Straight Jacket Fitting’. I love it.

I hope you enjoy this album as much as I do!
As always, take care of yourself!

The Cure w/ Carrie Danger

Hey everyone! Back at it from another wild weekend and it was a great one to say the least.

CD Cure Blossom Sign

The Cure came to Blossom Music Center and so did the rain we desperately needed for NE Ohio. I think Mother Nature knew that was the way The Cure was meant to be experienced.

Prior to show time I was up at the table with some co workers and had the pleasure of meeting so many people from different states and great listeners! Enjoy these photos of myself and Maya, Amy and Steve and Walt!

CD with Listener CureCD with listeners cure

CD Walt Cure

With a few lightning strikes and a trip back to the car for a bit we finally got the GO to continue on with the show! I was so taken aback when I heard The Cure start to play, after all this time they sound fantastic. With a 15 song set and TWO encores they played a total of 29 incredible songs for a sold out venue.

I don’t think I could even pick a song that I enjoyed most because honestly they were all great! What I can do is list a few of my favs and I would love to know yours!

If you were at the show I hope you enjoyed it as much as I did! Now that I have my first rain concert experience I know how to dress for a potential next rainy show.

As always, take care of yourself!

Best Friends w/ Carrie Danger

Hey everyone! Yesterday was National Best Friends Day and I couldn’t miss out on my chance to talk about and highlight my amazing best friends!

What makes a best friend? Well a lot of things really. Someone you can confide in without judgment. Someone who will be honest with you even when you might not want to hear it.

A best friend is there for you and never lets you down. It doesn’t matter how long you have been friends, it’s the quality time you spend together that matters.

Of course you want to make sure you can laugh and have fun with that person HOWEVER you can have fun with just about anyone… it’s deeper than that.

Without my friends I don’t know where I would be today. I owe so much of my growth to them.

When my mom left this earth they were all there for me, when I needed to quickly get out of a situation that would have turned for the absolute worst, there they were helping me move.

The list goes on. We share great times and some of the hardest experiences someone can experience.

I am constantly telling my friends I love and appreciate them. Do it often!

Have a great weekend and give your best friend a call/text and let them know you care about them.

Take care of yourself,
Love, Carrie Danger

Car-aoke w/ Carrie Danger

Hey everyone, today I thought I would talk about one of the most therapeutic activities one can do… singing in the car or as one would call it “Car-eoke”!

On my way into work I was singing my big heart out and it got me thinking about when I see other people simply vibin’ on their own in the car. I usually try and make eye contact and bop with them.

I remember way back when I would stop singing or seat dancing at stop lights or if I thought someone saw me. NOW I do not care at all. Most people wouldn’t give it a second thought and those that do… well they are not worth our time.

You hear me singing super loud? I hope you know the song because I need some backup vocals.

Now there are so many amazing sing along songs for your commute for work, road trips or just a random drive down some country roads.

Today I started with Wilson Phillips ‘Hold On’ then I moved into my elder-emo side.

Taking Back Sunday ‘Cute without the E’, Hawthorne Heights ‘Ohio Is for Lovers’ and ‘Niki FM’, Chiodos ‘Baby, You Wouldn’t Last A Minute On The Creek’ and finally as I pulled into the parking lot my usual Tenacious D ‘Tribute’.

I hope you all can let go and enjoy singing even if someone sees you… you might just inspire them to sing loud and proud!

As usual, take care of yourself and sing loud and proud!
Love, Carrie Danger
