DCFC w/ Carrie Danger

Hello everyone!

As you know Death Cab for Cutie played last night (6/4) at The Agora and of course Paramore played at Rocket Mortgage Fieldhouse.

So let’s say you made it to Paramore and not Death Cab and you want to know how it went… well fear not! I have the deets for you!

Alyssa and I had our regular merch booth set up and got to meet so many incredible people. I think one of the cooler experiences was hearing people say “where is the Wave?” and then being excited that it’s now Alternative!

This show was sold out and wow what a packed house of great people and amazing vibes!

We were lucky to attend the soundcheck with select listeners and it was so unreal.

The band played a 19 song set with a 4 song encore. They kicked off the night with a track from their latest album ‘Asphalt Meadows’ “I Don’t Know How I Survive”. As they played through their set list the crowd sang along and really enjoyed themselves.

I admit when they played “I Will Possess Your Heart” and “I’ll Follow You Into The Dark” I shed many tears. Two fantastic songs that evoke such emotion.

You may be wondering, “Carrie, did they play “Soul Meets Body?” … YES they did as part of the encore.

It was a night to remember and feel for days or weeks to come.

If you were there I am so happy you got to experience them!

As always, take care of yourself.
Love, Carrie Danger

Cinnamon & Bone Thugs w/ Carrie Danger

Happy June, Happy LGBT Pride Month!

We will dive into the importance of Pride Month at a later date but ONLY because it’s the 1st and today is the day of the month you might practice a Cinnamon Abundance Ritual in your home. So let’s get into it!

You may be thinking, Carrie Danger… this is a bit out there don’t ya think? Yeah I know but hear me out… it’s actually really rad and such a cool way to bring a higher vibration to your home.

I have been practicing this monthly ritual for exactly a year now and let me tell you, I have felt and experienced the higher vibration and peace that has come over my home. Not to mention the abundance in so many aspects of my life.

As you know cinnamon  is incredibly beneficial for your health. This powerhouse of a spice reduces your blood sugar levels, increases your metabolic rate, protects your brain and reduces inflammation in your body.

In addition it’s been used in practices for a LONG time to increase prosperity and as I mentioned a higher vibration in your home.

Basically on the 1st of the month you take a small amount of cinnamon (I usually just do an eyeballed tablespoon in the palm of my hand) and stand outside my front door, say a short affirmation and then blow it right inside. Boom. Done. Here’s the trick, you actually have to believe it. If you’re like me you believe in manifestation and that is, in my opinion, the most important part of this whole ritual. Now I take it to another level and actually blow it into every door I frequently use in my home. Why not?

Here is an example of what I say when I do this.  “When this cinnamon blows, prosperity here will enter. When this cinnamon blows, abundance will come to stay. When this cinnamon blows, abundance here will live. Peace. Love. Success in all aspects. Thank you!”

Gratitude is also a big part of it, even if you just practice gratitude daily I believe you’ll feel a shift in your mental health and regular outlook on life. Here’s a small example: I look at my plants and I am grateful, my cats, my safe home, my amazing job and soooooo much more!

You’re all doing incredible and you should be so proud of yourselves. Enjoy this Bone Thugs~N~Harmony banger I linked below.

So as always, take care of yourself.

Memorial Day w/ Carrie Danger

Hey everyone, tonight I thought I would write about the holiday weekend ahead of us.

Memorial Day Weekend, regarded as the unofficial start of summer but let’s not forget what Memorial Day is about.

Originally known as Decoration Day, the first national observance of Memorial Day occurred on May 30, 1868. From 1868 to 1970, it was observed on May 30th.

In 1971, Congress standardized the holiday as "Memorial Day" and changed its observance to the last Monday in May.

Of course it’s always nice to have a weekday off work but don’t forget the reason we do. Coming from a long line of military family members I know I take a brief moment while I’m grounding to give thanks.

Have fun this weekend, be safe and responsible and of course wear your sunblock.

Take care of yourself.

Memorial Day Weekend in Northeast Ohio

There is so much going on in the Land this long weekend. Jaci mentioned a lot of them in Exploring the Land yesterday, but here's a few more... as well as Memorial Day Parade info!

As a kid, I absolutely loved visiting downtown Chagrin Falls for their annual Blossomtime Festival. I definitely got sick riding one too many spinny rides, but if you pace yourself, you can enjoy a full weekend of live music, parading, rides, carnival games, a pie-eating contest, and so much more! It’s free to enter, and you can also explore the local businesses downtown and of course the waterfall. Make it out there before it ends on Monday.

If you like Little Italy, you’re gonna LOVE Little Italy’s Artisan & Farmers Market. Local vendors, artists, and farmers will be set up Saturday at Tony Brush Park from 1 to 7 p.m. It’s a great way to enjoy a Saturday while supporting local businesses. Check out more info here

Grandma Louise Day w/ Carrie Danger

Hello everyone!

Today I wanted to highlight my Grandma Louise, we were able to spend the day together and boy did we have fun!

To say that I am lucky to have my Grandma at the age of 34 is an understatement. She is so strong and incredible and such a great role model for the youths of the family.

My Gram loves tea so we popped into the New World in Wadsworth and right next door we experienced this adorable shop called Uniquely Handmade You with over 100 local vendors.

Funny moment: the owner of Uniquely Handmade You is in a band called “Big Johnson”

Highlight of the day: showing Grandma Louise the radio station and having her on the air during Brady’s shift! It was adorable and I’ll never forget that with her. You can hear the break below… Gram was very unsure of the name Death Cab For Cutie.

I know it’s hard to get together with family and friends but remember, we only have so much time and we can’t get that time back. Embrace the moments you can and stay present.

As always, take care of yourself,
Love, Carrie Danger

P.S. I played her Blink-182 and Death Cab just for reference

ALT REWIND: In Too Deep

Earlier this month, SUM 41 announced, on the 22nd anniversary  they would be disbanding after nearly 3 decades together. On twitter they said, “"Being in Sum 41 since 1996 brought us some of the best moments of our lives...We are forever grateful to our fans both old and new, who have supported us in every way. It is hard to articulate the love and respect we have for all of you and we wanted you to hear this from us first."

Before they officially disband though, they made sure to tell fans they will be finishing out their U.S. tour and dropping final album, Heaven :x: Hell. If you want to see one of their last live performances, they’ll be on the lineup with Simple Plan and The Offspring for the “Let the Bad Times Roll Tour”.

Today in ALT REWIND we are paying tribute to Sum 41 with one of the biggest songs of their debut album, All Killer No Filler… In Too Deep!

On a cloudy Toronto evening in 1998, Sum 41 lead singer, Deryck Whibley was 18 and waiting for his friend and bandmate, Dave Baksh, to pick him up. Baksh was apparently very late, so Whibley just started messing around on his guitar. Within 3 to 4 minutes, he had come up with practically the whole song, “In Too Deep”, and would later add the guitar solo and bridge. For the lyrics, he took inspiration from a relationship he went through in the 10th grade. Even though the relationship was headed toward’s a breakup, he kept trying to make it work, and kept giving it another shot, because he felt he was in too deep.

"The faster we're falling, we're stopping and stalling, we're running in circles again. Just as things were looking up, you said it wasn't good enough, but still we're trying one more time."

Whibley thought after his 10th-grade breakup, that’d he never date again. I guess that feeling didn’t last too long cause he ended up marrying a fellow alternative icon, Avril Lavigne! They divorced in 2010 after four years of marriage, but before they did, they performed a few songs together. It’s not the best quality, but please enjoy this blast from the past clip, of Deryck Whibley and Avril Lavigne singing In Too Deep during Avril’s tour in 2008.

Earthing w/ Carrie Danger

Hello everyone!

Today I wanted to talk about something I personally believe in and practice daily.

Earthing also known as Grounding.

Basically, you stand/walk outside in grass, mud, and water barefoot. It’s really that easy to improve your mood, increase circulation, reduce inflammation and get a bit more in touch with this big beautiful planet we have for a short time.

There are plenty of studies on this topic but I’ll reference The National Institute of Health

“Grounding or earthing refers to direct skin contact with the surface of the Earth, such as with bare feet or hands, or with various grounding systems. Grounding appears to improve sleep, normalize the day–night cortisol rhythm, reduce pain, reduce stress, shift the autonomic nervous system from sympathetic toward parasympathetic activation, increase heart rate variability, speed wound healing, and reduce blood viscosity.”

The article is linked above so feel free to dig into it if you would like.

From my personal experience, stepping outside everyday barefoot has been one of the most simple and incredible habits I have added to my life. The improvements I have felt over all are worth this free “medicine” from Mother Earth.

I highly recommend that if you’re outside just take off your shoes and embrace it.

Below are two songs that I completely forgot about until deciding to write about this topic I am very passionate about, enjoy!

As usual take care of yourself,
Love, Carrie Danger
