Today is International Louie Louie day and I thought it would be nice to discuss a song that we all know and I’m sure appreciate in some form!
Written by Richard Berry in 1955, it was recorded by The Pharaohs and released in 1957.
Berry’s version tells of a seaman who journeys three days to Jamaica to visit his girl. A bartender, Louie, is given the story.
Now as you know there are a TON of covers and I believe my favorites are Toots & The Maytals, Los Yesterdays, Joan Jett & The Blackhearts and The Sandpipers.
