Throwback Thursday - Hawthorne Heights

Written by

Tonight we are touching on musical nostalgia and the beauty of listening to songs from our past.

What is nostalgia? According to the Oxford Dictionary Nostalgia is a sentimental longing or wistful affection for the past, typically for a period or place with happy personal associations.

In honor of Hawthorne Heights playing at the House of Blues tomorrow (3/24) we are going to talk about a song so many of us elder emos love dearly...

"Ohio Is For Lovers" from their debut album 'The Silence in Black and White' released in 2004 after their name change from A Day in the Life.

This song truly does evoke so many emotions, taking us back to our blacked out eye makeup, racoon tail hair extentions and skinny jeans topped with studded belts... yes multiple belts IYKYK. Throw me a Nikon camera and watch me code my MySpace profile.

From Dayton, Ohio this band has been making music since 2001 and recently released their 7th album 'The Rain Just Follows Me' in 2021 and just this month released two singles, 'Lucerne Valley' & 'Dandelions'. The lastest album and singles ring true to their sound and feels just as good as your first pair of Etnies.

Below you can enjoy all the songs mentioned above! -CD
