Walnut Wednesday Returns... In The Rain

Each Wednesday during the summer, food trucks line up in Perk Plaza to provide Clevelanders with some fun, new, and local lunch options! The Downtown Cleveland Alliance hosts it every year and today is the day it finally returns! Musicians typically line the plaza, but we might have to wait for next week when the weather is a little drier. Either way, my tummy’s already growling. Check out today’s lineup.

DON'T BLINK... And miss Blink-182

Don’t BLINK, you might miss their new music or a chance to win tickets…

Blink-182, the men, the myths, the legends. They finally reunited the original gang, and kicked off their first live performance at Coachella last week, not just headlining one weekend, but filling in last minute for Frank Ocean and saving the festival.

Ss we look forward to some new music from them…just a few days ago their drummer, Travis Barker, tweeted, “Album will be finished before we leave on tour”. Seeing that their tour starts this Thursday, I am waiting NOT so patiently. We love them for their nostalgic songs anyway, so vintage Blink will have to do in the meantime!

And if you wanna win tickets to see them when they come to Rocket Mortgage Fieldhouse May 16th, I’m your girl all week long! Just tune in around 11:30AM the rest of the week for your shot at a pair to the show!!

The Gathering 2023: DAY ONE

I was out for a couple of days last week because I was attending The Gathering 2023 in Las Vegas! It’s quite literally a gathering of radio programmers, DJs, music journalists, record labels, and, of course, up and coming musicians meeting to discuss the future of the industry. We learned a lot about how to make our station the best it can be and saw a ton of awesome performances from musicians we can’t wait to play for you! I’ll be showcasing the musicians we saw all this week. But for today’s blog, let me tell you about the first night.

On day one, we showed up, a little jet lagged and delirious but all in all so excited to see some great shows. That night we went to The Sand Dollar in downtown Las Vegas where we got to see Killer Kennedy, Letdown, and Giovannie & The Hired Guns.

Killer Kennedy, an artist out of LA with a sound reminsicent of early 2000s took the stage first. She describes herself as a “Bad Bitch, Sad Bitch” but NOT a “Disney Bitch” and probably had the best style of anyone in the room. It was a chill start to the night as people were still arriving at the venue, but she managed to put on a solid set and get people out of their seats. She performed her latest release Drugs on My Mind which you can check out for yourself here.

Letdown took the stage next and was anything BUT a letdown. He was engaging with the audience members who were getting just as hyped as he was. He got the other jet-lagged people out of their seats and bumping to the music. I can’t tell which is more beautiful… his long luscious locks or his angelic voice but either way, his song Crying in the Shower was stuck in my head for the rest of the trip. It’s catchy, vulnerable, relatable, and just a great track. You might have heard it when Carrie played it during the Danger Zone, but you can also check it out here.

Next was Giovannie & The Hired Guns! They were brought on stage by a fellow Chicano DJ who mentioned the importance of showcasing their music on her station. It added another layer to an already special performance. You’ve most definitely heard their song Ramon Ayala on our station, but I highly recommend checking out their live performance of the song below because seeing them on stage is a totally different experience. The band consists of Giovannie and 4 others (The Hired Guns). All of them brought their own unique dance moves, personality, and energy, even one guy playing the tuba with his bass still strapped to him. You could tell how into the performance they were and it made everyone want to get on the stage with them. Killer band, killer performance.

We want to know what you think of these artists so we can better curate your perfect playlist here at 107.3 ! If you can, send us some feedback to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.

Blink 182 Takes On Week 2 At Coachella

I can get over missing Blink-182 perform at Coachella once, but I am supremely jealous I wasn’t in the crowd for their two stellar performances, since they replaced Frank Ocean for the second weekend. And since I couldn’t make it to the show, you just know I watched that live stream

Week 1 of the festival marked the band’s first performance since reuniting with Tom Delonge (Can you believe it’s almost been 10 years since he took a step back???). The setlists on Week 1 and Week 2 were about the same, but on Week 2 they showed up ready to impress by amping up their video production, pyrotechnics, and visuals. Seeing they had little time to prepare, as Week 2 was a last-minute addition to their schedule, they still did what Blink-182 does best, put on a nostalgia-filled, energetic, and engaging punk rock show.

Last night, Mark Hoppus used his humor to engage with festival goers, asking how many of them had done illegal drugs that weekend and also making a “deeznuts” joke. It was only two years prior that he found out he had cancer. Taking that into consideration, along with Tom Delonge’s multiple hiatuses from the band over the last couple of decades, it’s really a miracle they performed as the original Blink-182. They’ve saved my soul with their music, and this year, they saved Coachella.

Now I am more PUMPED than ever to see them on May 16th at Rocket Mortgage Fieldhouse.

Brady's Gotta Run... To Girls on the Run

I was out feeling a little sick yesterday, but I am so happy to be back! Not only is it a big day for 107.3 (Jaci and Carrie will both be out celebrating 420- Jaci’s at Vitrum Smoke Shop until 1:30 PM and Carrie will be at Twisted Headz in Mentor from 3 - 5 PM.) but later tonight I’ll be out representing the station as an emcee for Girls on the Run of Northeast Ohio’s annual Sneaker Soiree

For those who don’t know, Girls on the Run is an after-school program for young girls to inspire compassion, boost confidence, build relationships, and learn the importance of staying active. At the end of each season the girls can walk, skip, or run their way to completing a 5k.

I joined when I was in the 4th grade. If you couldn’t already tell, I was a weird kid. But GOTR gave me a friend group, a place I felt accepted, and also helped me build my confidence by accomplishing a 5k race!

They are committed to reaching as many girls as possible, serving over 17,000 since they started the Northeast Ohio chapter in 2007! No matter financial background, physical ability, or anything else that could get in the way, they make sure all girls can participate.

When I was in high school, my former GOTR coach had reached out, saying they needed a Junior Coach to join that season. I later found out, a young girl by the name of Caroline, wanted to participate, but she was blind. So, in typical GOTR fashion, they made it happen

My role was to work with Caroline everyday. We’d together hold a pool ring, and I’d guide her through the different trails, letting her know when we had to turn or go uphill. She was the sweetest most determined kid I had ever met, and she was not gonna let her disability get in the way of what she wanted to do. At the end of the season, we successfully ran the 5k together, and I couldn’t be prouder.

I love Girls on the Run and cannot wait for tonight’s Sneaker Soiree! If you have a young girl at home, or just want to support an amazing orginzation, check them out!

A Day Full Of Concert Announcements!

I don’t know if it’s something in the air or just that we’re the furthest from Covid lockdown times we’ve been, but it’s setting out to be the biggest summer for live music. And I, for one, am OVER THE MOON excited.

Just today we announced:

Greta Van Fleet is coming to Rocket Mortgage Fieldhouse on September 23rd. If you tune into AJ at 8:30 AM all this week to win,

Nathaniel Rateliff & The Night Sweats is coming to Jacobs Pavilion on September 18th. You can tune into ME, Brady Marks, at 11:30 AM all this week to win.

Flogging Molly is coming to the Jacobs Pavilion on September 15th. Tune into Jaci Fox at 4:30 PM all this week to win.

All the concerts above don’t even have tickets on sale to the public yet so the only way to get em’ before they go on sale is to beat the box office with 107.3!!!!

Another one we announced today that I am so pumped for is Orville Peck! He’s coming to Jacobs Pavilion on July 26th and for that one, you’ll have to keep listening to 107.3 to see how you can win.

Who are you most excited to see this summer?

Michigander vs. Ohio

All last week AJ was giving away tickets AND Meet and Greet passes to see Michigander at the Grog Shop. The show was last night, and when I scurried into the Meet and Greet a few minutes late, our lovely winners were already hitting it off with Jason Singer (the Man, the Myth, the Legend behind Michigander). By the start of the show, we had formed a little posse. I have never seen a group of strangers just instantly become best friends. We were all having so much fun dancing and laughing the whole night, that I almost forgot we had all just met eachother. It's moments like these that remind me that we truly have the best listeners ever -- shoutout Liam, Mckenna, Krisandra, Renee, Derek, and Chris (my new favorite people)!!!

Opening for Michigander was Abby Holliday and a local Cleveland band Who Saved Who who both got the crowd ready and pumped up for the main act. You can hear Who Saved Who’s latest song “Fill Your Cup” featured this Sunday, April 23rd during Live and Local with Aaron Lux!

When Michigander took the stage and started singing, I felt like he looked every single person in the eyes. It was as if he was personally serenading each of us. His voice was angelic, his stage presence amazing, and the show was one of my favorites this year. I may be an Ohio girl through and through, but I'll always have a special place in my heart for Michigander.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY CARRIE DANGER

The date is April 14th, 1989. It’s just after midnight in Clarksville, Tennessee, and the earth begins to shake… the moonlit clouds seemingly part in an instant as an angel descends from Heaven. She’s in the form of a newborn baby, and she is blessed with a name… Carrie Danger.

This is my tribute to Carrie, who has taught me so much about being on air, staying true to yourself, loving life, and honestly, how to be a badass woman. I love this girl and hope she has the best day!

She won’t be on the air today as she’s taking the day off (as she should!! It’s her BDAY after all!!) so give our weekend jock, DJ Nivens a listen! He’ll be filling in for her and making sure you still get your daily dose of the DANGER ZONE at 9 PM.

But if you see Carrie around town, on social media or, as I often do, in your dreams, make sure to wish her the happiest of birthdays!
